Community Fundraisers Help Everyone Shine!

Glitter Shop Pop-Ups are community-driven costume and accessories fundraising events supporting BurlyCon. Studios, troupes, and venues around the world are invited to host pop-up Glitter Shops in their local communities or online!

By hosting a Glitter Shop Pop-Up, participating organizations activate their local community while directly supporting BurlyCon, a nonprofit dedicated to professional growth, education, and connection within the arts.  Here’s how they work:

  • You host a swap or boutique-style sale
  • Your community shows up with sparkle
  • In-person pop-ups commit 50% of proceeds to BurlyCon
  • Virtual pop-ups commit 100% of proceeds to BurlyCon
  • We provide the toolkit, branding, and promo support, you bring the sparkle.
  • Glitter Shop Pop-Ups must be completed by October 7, 2026.

Hosts shape their own events, showcase their local scene, and help extend BurlyCon’s mission beyond the annual convention

Who Should Participate

Glitter Shop Pop-Ups are ideal for:

  • Burlesque, dance, arts, and movement studios and schools
  • Performance venues and theaters
  • Burlesque troupes and collectives
  • Artist-run spaces and community organizations
  • Festivals or event producers with a local burlesque and movement arts base

Participation is open to organizations of all sizes, anywhere burlesque artists gather.

How to Participate

Step 1: Complete the Glitter Shop Pop-Up Interest Form
Tell us a who you are and a little about your event!

Step 2: Receive the Host Toolkit!
Hosts receive a Glitter Shop Pop-Up Toolkit, including:

  • Campaign overview and fundraising guidelines
  • Branding assets and approved language
  • Social media and email templates
  • Donation and reporting instructions
  • FAQ for vendors and attendees

The toolkit helps keep messaging consistent while allowing each event to reflect local culture and flair.

Step 3: Plan Your Event
Hosts determine the format that works best for their community. Options include:

  • Swap-only events
  • Swap + vendor sales
  • Raffles and prize drawings
  • Boutique-style pop-up shopping experiences

If booth or table fees are collected, net proceeds (after event expenses) are included in the fundraising total.

Step 4: Fundraising & Reporting
Proceeds from each Glitter Shop are donated to BurlyCon, Hosts may submit a short post-event recap for a guest blog post, including:

  • Funds raised
  • Attendance estimate
  • Photos or highlights (optional but encouraged)
  • BurlyCon will acknowledge participating organizations across campaign communications whenever possible.
