Big Reveal! The New Burlycon.org

We’ve Launched Our New Website!

We’re excited to share something we’ve been quietly building with a lot of care: BurlyCon has a new website!

This launch marks an important step forward for how we show up online, how we share information, tell our story, and support our community year-round. While you’ll notice some immediate changes, this is also just the beginning. Think of this as Phase One.

Why We Rebuilt the Site

Over time, our website grew the way many community-centered sites do: organically and a little unevenly. As BurlyCon continues to expand beyond a single annual event into year-round programming, education, and storytelling, we needed a site that could keep pace.

This rebuild was guided by a few clear priorities:

    • Clarity: making it easier to find what you need, when you need it.
    • Accessibility: improving structure, readability, and navigation.
    • Sustainability: creating a foundation we can update and grow without rebuilding everything again.
    • Alignment: better reflecting BurlyCon’s values, voice, and guiding idea, Artistry as Agency.

What’s New (and What You’ll Notice First)

Here are some of the most visible updates you’ll see right away:

    • Clearer navigation: Information about the convention, year-round programs, support opportunities, and the BurlyBlog are now grouped more intuitively—so you don’t have to hunt.
    • Updated page structure: Pages have been reorganized to better reflect how people actually use the site, whether you’re a first-time attendee, returning presenter, or longtime supporter.
    • A refreshed BurlyBlog:Our blog now has a clearer purpose: sharing stories, context, and updates that deepen connection. We’ve transitioned older posts over from the previous site.
    • A more cohesive look and feel
The design is simpler, cleaner, and built to supports content without overshadowing it.

What’s Still in Progress

Because transparency matters to us, we want to be clear: this is not a “final” version. In the coming weeks, we’ll continue:

    • Auditing links and fine-tuning page content.
    • Adding clarity and depth to select sections.
    • Incorporating a second phase of updates

Launching now allows us to share what’s ready, establish a strong foundation, and improve iteratively rather than waiting for perfection.
