Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help detect spam. We may generate an anonymized string (hash) from your email address and share it with the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. You can review the Gravatar service’s privacy policy on their website. After we approve a comment, the commenter’s profile picture (if applicable) appears publicly alongside the comment.

Cookies

When you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies exist for your convenience, so you do not need to re-enter your information when you leave future comments. We store these cookies for one year.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Our site may include embedded content such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves as though you visited those websites directly.

These external websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. This may include tracking your interaction if you have an account with and are logged in to that external website.

Who We Share Your Data With

BurlyCon does not sell products and does not offer user accounts or login features on our website. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

We share limited information only with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate our website and programs, such as email communication platforms, event registration services, donation or payment processors, and analytics tools. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their services and must protect your data.

We may also share information when the law requires us to do so or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of BurlyCon and our community. If you have questions about how we handle your information, you may contact us at any time.

How Long We Retain Your Data

When you leave a comment, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically rather than holding them for moderation.

If users register on our website in the future, we will store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users will be able to view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username. Website administrators will also be able to view and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have left comments on this site, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you provided. You may also request that we erase personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

We may process visitor comments through an automated spam detection service.
