Navigating Change Together
Board President shares a letter grounded in care, reflection, and community.
Greetings, love,
It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other in person. Three years have passed since we gathered in a hotel conference center and since then, our world has seen so much change. We’ve changed how we move, how we gather, and what we prioritize. And that’s okay. We hear you. We understand.
Costs have risen, priorities have evolved, and many of us now make different calculations about where to invest our time and resources. For some, BurlyCon has always been a big-ticket experience. Something you returned to year after year, or something you dreamed of attending for your own personal change. If BurlyCon isn’t in the cards for you right now, that’s okay. BurlyCon isn’t going anywhere, and neither is education in the art of the tease. When the time feels right and safe for you, we’ll be here.
If you can’t attend BurlyCon in person, you can still join us from the comfort of your own home. In 2022, we’re bringing back a virtual version of the BurlyCon conference. We’re featuring new classes beginning November 10. You can watch on your own schedule and continue developing your craft while advancing your performance practice.
At its heart, BurlyCon centers community. We prioritize care, accessibility, and safety, and we want every member of the burlesque community and industry to make choices that support their well-being.
However you choose to engage, you remain part of this community. And we’re glad you’re here.
