A Guide to the BurlyCon Presenter Application

Now live: the BurlyCon Presenter Submission Guide.

Submitting a class proposal is an act of generosity. It’s an invitation to share your knowledge, your process, and your perspective with artists who trust you with their learning.

To support that exchange, BurlyCon created the Presenter Submission Guide as a companion to the annual convention Presenter Application.

  • The guide makes the process clearer and more supportive—for both new and returning presenters.
  • Each section aligns with the fields in the Presenter Submission Form, so you can prepare your responses before you submit.
  • It reduces guesswork and helps you describe not only what you want to teach, but how you plan to teach it.

We encourage presenters to apply with every class they’d like to teach. Sharing the full range of your work helps us understand your voice and opens more possibilities for curriculum design. When we see the breadth of your ideas, we have more ways to say yes.

BurlyCon supports the growth, health, and multicultural diversity of the international burlesque community. We also prioritize access to continuing education within our art form. That commitment shapes how we approach curriculum, accessibility, and inclusion—and how we support presenters as they design learning experiences.

The Presenter Submission Guide asks you to think intentionally about your audience, accessibility, and the learning environment you want to create.

This guide is a tool. It’s a companion we offer in the spirit of collaboration, agency, and clarity. We look forward to seeing what you bring!
