Director at Large
Born in Ellwood City, PA in 1948, she majored in tenor sax at Indiana University of PA. She took a two week vacation to San Francisco in 1971 and decided to stay. She discovered burlesque and started as the Blue Lady at the New Follies Action Theater. After a few road trips, she co-managed the Follies for awhile, still performing there as a dancer, as well as doing skits with the comedians. Returning to travel, her route was Vancouver B.C. to Tucson, throughout the midwest, as far east as Pittsburgh, PA. While performing as Camille 2000’s co-feature, she changed her name to Viva LaFever. When the business became too raunchy, she got a union job as one of the first female newspaper truck drivers for the SF Examiner and Chronicle, where she was a circulation district manager for 22 years. Recognizing corruption within her union, she ran for office and was elected Shop Steward, Recording Secretary, Vice President, and eventually President of Teamster Local 921, working as a full-time business agent.
Vicious but Fair, the Insatiable Viva LaFever!
