Savings Squirrel Says: It’s time to get organized and ready for your big trip to Seattle! Budgeting now will be your best friend. Open a second savings account, use a credit card that will give you plenty of points/airline miles, or simply stow cash away in a jar- putting the money away now will help you save more and put less stress on you in the days leading up to the Con. Here is a handy little checklist to keep you on track:
- Register for BurlyCon! Obviously.
- Book your hotel. Our host hotel, the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center, still has spots open in the BurlyCon Block, which saves you money and puts you with all the other attendees, perfect for those late night soirees. Hit the link to get the details and book your room today.
- How will you get there? Flying is usually best booked around 2 months out(a lot of studies show 54 days if you want to be exact), but anywhere from 3-2 months is good. Of course road trips are great, especially if you can book shows along the way. And Amtrak will drop you off right in downtown Seattle next to the lightrail, which takes you directly to our hotel.
- Budget for food, the vendors room, and extras. We’ll have all kinds of details for you later about our vendors, but start squirreling away some extra scratch now so you have plenty to keep you hydrated, full, and looking fabulous. Consider now how much you can save each month and make a plan!
With some planning ahead BurlyCon will be a fun and stress free event without having to worry about your budget. Let us know how you’re getting to BurlyCon X and any travel tips you may have with the #BurlyConXorBust hashtag on social media!
