“One of my favorite things about being a benefactor is the benefactor dinner. If you become a member, I hope you sit at my dinner table and we make a toast to burlesque education.”

Interviewed by Vixen Valentine, Director of Communication for BurlyCon

You’re incredibly passionate about being a BurlyCon Benefactor, why is it important to you?

Being a BurlyCon Benefactor is close to my heart because burlesque has given so much to me that I wanted to give back. I can be involved in my scene and actively participate in its growth and education of it. The monthly price option fits with my performer income budget. I know that my monthly donation is taking care of not only my cost of BurlyCon but the cost of others and assisting in making the event happen.

What’s been a standout moment for you as a BurlyCon Benefactor?

My standout moments have come from seeing my friends receive the benefits of me being a benefactor and others that have become benefactors with me. It was a heartwarming moment when my friend Dainty Dandridge won a scholarship. I was thankful that

Poison Ivory listened to my benefactor pitch while we were hanging out in the hallways of BurlyCon. It makes my heart very happy.

What would you say to someone who is on the fence about being a BurlyCon Benefactor?

Being a BurlyCon Benefactor is a great way to give back to the burlesque community and the continuation of burlesque education. If you are in a position to give back to the community, please take the opportunity. It is something that I have never regretted and look forward to renewing each year. The benefits of being a benefactor come in many shapes and forms. One of my favorite things about being a benefactor is the benefactor dinner. If you become a member, I hope you sit at my dinner table and we make a toast to burlesque education.
