The BurlyCon Board of Directors is getting all dolled up with bite-sized bibliophile Bebe “The Doll” Bardeaux! BurlyCon is all about education. It only makes sense that a historian, librarian, and soon-to-be author like Bebe Bardeaux would j oin the BurlyCon board.
Bebe Bardeaux is an award-winning shake dancer, pinup model, and rollergirl. Bebe Bardeaux has been honored with the 2019 Golden Smile Award at the Golden Legends Champion Challenge, the top prize in the 2018 Burlypicks D.C. regionals, and in that same year was nominated for the New York Burlesque Festival’s Hottest Freshman Golden Pastie Award. Bebe Bardeaux’s popular blog is filled with brilliant stories from her performance journey and the history of shake dancing. Be on the lookout for those blog posts to evolve into her forthcoming book “Shake Queens,” a historical overview of the art form from a Black modern-day performance perspective.
With Bebe Bardeaux as the latest addition to the BurlyCon Board of Directors, we are nine directors strong. There are nine reasons to get excited about the future of BurlyCon! We are still laying down the foundation for the next ten years. Keep your eyes peeled for our next big reveal!
