BurlyCon announces the 2018 Directors.
Seattle, WA – BurlyCon, the only education focused burlesque convention in the US, is heading into its eleventh year in Seattle, WA. They are excited to announce the Directors who will be working throughout the year to help put on the convention. Indigo Blue, the mastermind behind BurlyCon continues in her role as Executive Director.
Lola Love has accepted the role of Deputy Director along with continuing on as the Director of Programming. Red Delicious returns as the Chief Operations Officer, IT Lead, Registration Co-Lead, Venue Team, and Board Treasurer. Vixen Valentine has moved from social media content creator to Director of Communications and Marketing. Fosse Jack has moved from a member of the programming team to Director of Volunteers. Ri Ri Syn Cyr has joined BurlyCon as the Director of Development and Tulip Magnolia has joined BurlyCon as Director of Community.
Lola Love has been the Director of Programming since 2013 and in response to her reaction to being the new Deputy Director, “I am excited and honored for the opportunity to work in a larger capacity as Deputy Director! I have been lucky to be part of the team for 5 years and I can honestly say it has never once felt like work. I am thrilled for this new position and cannot wait to serve the community in a larger capacity. I’m ready to make some MAGIC.”
Red Delicious has been in the position of Chief Operations Officer since the very first BurlyCon. She is the business manager for the Academy of Burlesque in Seattle, a BurlyCon Board Member and teaches classes on business-including bookkeeping and basic tax prep for artists.
Vixen Valentine has been a BurlyCon volunteer for the last 2 years as a social media content creator. She is excited about her role as Director of Communications and Marketing because it will challenge her to grow in a field that she is already passionate about in a dynamic and exciting environment.
Fosse Jack is a proud and active member in the Seattle burlesque community. With his partner, Apollo Vídra, he is one half of OtterPup Productions, as well as the Recital Coordinator for Miss Indigo Blue’s Academy of Burlesque. Having served on BurlyCon’s Steering Committee since 2013, Fosse is honored and excited to take on the responsibility of Director of Volunteers this year!
Ri Ri Syn Cyr brings over 20 years of nonprofit administration and fundraising experience to the position and has obtained 3 degrees that will aid her in her job of Director of Development. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion in the philanthropic community.
Tulip Magnolia is a Unitarian Universalist minister whose ministry is founded on the premise that all bodies are good, wholeness comes in variations and we have a right to autonomy over our bodies. Tulip is excited to bring this philosophy to her role as Community Director.
